The 10th seeded UW-Green Bay Phoenix women fell to 7-seeded Tennessee in their opening round of the NCAA Tournament, losing 59-53 in Arizona.

Tennessee’s tradition is 18 Final Fours and eight national titles. But Kevin Borseth’s team wasn’t intimidated, knowing this Lady Vols team was the first to fall out of the Top 25 for the first time in 31 years.

They made it a tight game early, tied at 27 at halftime.

Alli LeClaire, a sophomore from Notre Dame Academy, had a good game early on, helping the team build an 8-point lead at one time.

But the Lady Vols got back in it, and built their momentum in the fourth.

Green Bay couldn’t get the lead back, going 3-for-17 on three-point attempts.

There were 15 lead changes before the Phoenix fell by six.
